At Strive, our team is the heartbeat of everything we do. Today, we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on Marina, a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) who has been transforming lives with Strive for nearly a year in the Georgetown, Texas area.
Marina recently sat down to record a video sharing her background, her passion for home health care, and some of her favorite collaborative clinics in the area. Therefore, we invite you to watch her full video below and read on to learn more about her journey!
From San Antonio to Central Texas: Marina’s Journey
Born and raised in San Antonio, Marina later moved to Round Rock to pursue her passion for speech therapy. While there, she attended Texas State University, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Disorders. Armed with deep clinical knowledge and a heart for helping others, Marina joined the Strive team to serve families in the greater Georgetown community.
Why Home Health is the Perfect Fit for an SLP
Transitioning from academia to the field, Marina always knew where she wanted to be.
“I wanted to work in a home health environment since I was in grad school,” Marina shares. “Not only because of the flexibility of scheduling, but because I truly thrive on that one-on-one time with my patients in their natural environments.”
Indeed, providing speech therapy at home or in familiar community settings allows SLPs like Marina to tailor interventions to a child’s real-world routine. As a result, this personalized approach leads to more meaningful, functional communication breakthroughs.
The Power of Collaboration: Marina’s Favorite Locations
One of the unique aspects of working with Strive is the opportunity to collaborate with other local pediatric specialists. In particular, Marina highlights three of her favorite locations in her video:
- Action Behavior Centers (ABA Therapy for Autism)
- Bright Path
- Cultivate Behavioral Health & Education
Ultimately, Marina believes these partnerships are essential for patient care.
“Everybody is on the same path of collaborating to help their patients grow in their communication skills—not only the Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), but the families at home, too.”
